2. The service that my business would provide is connecting people who grow any type of fruit or vegetable not heir private property to reach customers who are looking for local organic produce.
3. The demographic of my customers would be anyone who has a need or want for local fresh produce products. Floridians and tropical areas are more easily marketable because of the vast amount of properties with produce. The customers will all be local and near the local sellers.
4. Customers will use this service because the app/website would allow them to find cleaner and fresher produce at cheaper prices than their local grocery store. If people find out that there neighbor two doors down has lemon trees in his/her back yard they will be more likely to buy lemons from them than the grocery store. This is good for both the buyer and seller. Customers will actually get to see where their produce is coming from the the trees/plants they are growing on. The service would attract sellers because they will be able to make money from the same fruit that they probably just throw away when it falls off the tree.
5. What sets this business idea apart from others is the easy to use platform that would be available. The app/website would be simple to use and fluent. The accuracy of information and ability for sutlers to grade sellers and their products would provide for a great local marketplace.
I believe all these elements fit together very well. The business plan has a lot more to it and the many details can definitely come together to make a business that would have incredible reach and local impact. Some parts on the ability to find sellers and verify the sellers would need some work but I believe own future business plans this is a very great opportunity that can work.
Hi Thomas,
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started reading about your idea I was a little unsure about it, but after reading more about it I think it has really good potential! My family has a mango tree in our backyard and during the summer it produces so many more mangos than we can eat. If my family had this app we would definitely be using it because it would benefit us just as much as it would benefit those who wanted to eat healthy.

Hi Thomas. I think this is an interesting idea and I think Florida is definitely a good market to try this. I also like that you're incorporating an app/website into it as that's the best way to spread the word and referrals these days. I am curious how you would find your sellers as you stated would need work. Maybe start in your neighborhood, parents neighborhood or possibly just find a neighborhood that has a lot of property and see if those people would be willing to try it out. They'd be making money so it would seem like a no loose situation. I would recommend allowing everyone to have access to their own site so they can control when they want to sell based on season, especially if their trees didn't produce a lot. This is a great idea in that it would drive more people to plant trees, which is great for the environment. Good luck!
